Why It Matters
Every maternal death is not just a loss of life—it is a heartbreaking tragedy for families and communities. Women who die during pregnancy or childbirth leave behind children without a mother, a void that no one else can fill. The psychological, emotional, and financial toll on the surviving partner is immense. Many children who lose their mothers end up in orphanages or living with relatives, growing up without the nurturing love only a mother can provide.
In regions like Nigeria, high maternal death rates signal the systemic failure of health provisions. With your help, we can change this narrative and ensure that fewer families experience such devastating loss.
